Finding and claiming plaques
You can browse the map without sharing your location. To claim a plaque, allow precise location access, connect to the internet and stand within 50 metres of the listed plaque. We check that your location reading is fresh and accurate. If a claim fails, wait outside for a clearer reading, use the locate button and try again. Stay in public space and respect residents.
If a plaque is missing or its details are wrong, open its page and choose Report an issue.
Accounts and collections
Start as a guest or use an optional account to access your collection on another device. Sign in through Account. Forgot password sends an email so you can choose a new password. If a guest transfer is unfinished, sign in to the same account and retry the transfer shown there.
Guest access belongs to this browser or app installation. Before reinstalling or clearing browser data, add a sign-in method if you want to keep access. Signing out does not delete an account collection.
Optional nearby alerts
Nearby alerts are off by default and available in the native app. Enable them from the menu and allow background location and notifications. Delivery depends on your device; force-quitting may stop alerts. You can turn them off in the menu or change permissions in device Settings.
Privacy and deletion
In Account, choose Delete account or, for guests, Reset & remove me. Read the confirmation before proceeding. If you cannot access the account, email us from your sign-up address. For retention, privacy choices and data requests, see our privacy policy.
